This clinical audit will enable Doctors to conduct a systematic review of their clinical practice. Doctors will have the availability to assess their identification, detection, diagnostic accuracy, practical accuracy of smear collection and STI pick up rates in adjunctive testing, i.e. Urine, Swabs, BD SurePath™ and ThinPrep in regards to their female patient population.
All doctors state-wide can assess their practice against their peers in a confidential setting via graphical and statistical information generated monthly. This information can then be used to further inform and improve clinical practice techniques, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of care for patients.
In addition, Abbott Pathology is offering assistance and feedback to GP's regarding their cytology both via statistical information and verbal communication with their Abbott Pathology Histo/Cytopathologists.
To register for the Cytology Pap Smear Audit, please complete the registration form and email us here.
Doctors will receive designated A4 Cytology Pap smear request forms upon confirmation of registration.
Some features and data included are diagnostic findings and accuracy, procedural findings and causes of unsatisfactory accuracy, ancillary testing and detected STIs.
At the end of the calendar year you will be sent a cumulative report which will include all data in a graphical feature; this will be an exact picture of Doctor/Surgery patient population.
